Epoufette Bay, Upper Michigan
“My dad had a heart attack right after moving Up North late in the summer of 2022. He was medevacked to a hospital and ended up having open heart surgery for a bypass. He lived and was able to make it home a few days later. I took the week off of work, drove the 8+ hours from Detroit to Iron River to go take help him recover for a few days. It was an insane couple of weeks, but there was a peace that kept me together amidst the stress.
I took this photo a little past halfway to his place. It was a pullout in Epoufette, a place I’m sure you’ll never hear about anywhere else. The sunset and bay melded together perfectly, and finally seeing the image weeks later when I developed the film, it reminded me of the peace that carried me through. While I love this image in its own right, it’s so much more than just a beautiful scene I chanced upon, it’s a touchstone for a whole package of memories.”
This fine art print is available in four sizes:
8x10 (Open Edition)
11x14 (Open Edition)
16x20 (Limited Edition of 50)
24x30 (Limited Edition of 10)
Each work is Giclée, printed on the best fine art paper available using archival inks.
Open editions are unsigned with a one inch matte, so framing sizes will be two inches larger in each dimension (an 8x10 print will need a 10x12 frame).
Limited editions are signed, numbered, with a one inch border and one inch matt (a 16x20 print will need a 20x24 frame).
All framing is done professionally with Museum Glass to ensure the clearest presentation possible. If you have specific requests for custom framing (single/double matte, frame type, etc.), include that information at checkout. Otherwise, all framing will by default be with a one inch border, one inch matte, and a clean black wood frame.
